"When I spoke to them [congregation in Barcelona] about the Crypto-Jews in America who were returning to Judaism after hundreds of years, many were moved to tears, and so was I. The reason for our emotional response was that while we were separated by thousands of miles, we were united by spirit and commitment to ensure the continuity of Judaism after realizing that both of our communities share a common destiny."
